Design for a virtual music stage / arena. Realized in the VR Festival Yanchi during Lockdown 1, 2020

[CRASHED]
Dancing together in virtual ruins

During Lockdown 1 – when there was still magic in the air – the Vienna based designer and artist Andreas Palfinger teamed up with the DJ Josua Zajons, to create this online virtual space in Mozilla Hubs.

[CRASHED] is place to connect, to savor music, to dance together.
The transcendence to ›online‹ turned the surrounding architecture into fragments, into triangulated ruins. Combined with a digital sculpture and rendered images, the scene is evoking feelings of a past glory – while dancing as avatars of ourselves.

Our disco was also part of Yanchi – a virtual music festival at the intersection of art and technology. Tribute goes to the digital artist and curator Martina Menegon, as this space was created during her course at Transmediale Kunst, die Angewandte.

CRASHED is accesible here (best in Firefox or Chrome)
